This series is... extremely disappointing (that's being nice, really it's an abomination) to anyone who's read the book series. In fact I think you could read the series skipping every second page and probably have a better idea what the plot actually is, than by watching this. Admittedly, I'm saying that from only watching up to 10 min in to the 4th episode... wait, it's the fourth episode and they've already changed, well, pretty much everything? ok, I'm gonna stick with it's an abomination. Seriously, go your local book store and pick it up.

I've read the entire book series and it was AMAZING, so, naturally when I found out there was a tv series being made based {I now see how loosely that term can be used} on it, I was bouncing off the freaking walls. Now I"m bouncing off the walls for a different reason... I understand that when a movie is made from a book, there are time constraints in place that requires certain plot points to be slightly twisted or just re-written to make it all fit nicely into an hour and a half to two hour movie. BUT THIS IS A FREAKING TV SERIES!!! It can take almost as much time as it needs. But no they've still got to change the entire plot to make it 'more entertaining for viewers'... If they had made it almost word for word from the book, I'd say at least half of the people who've read the series would watch it, if not religiously. AHHHHHHH.. I need to go smash something. To sum up first though; if you haven't read the books, go do that. If you don't want to read the books, fine, watch the series... or go stab yourself in the eye. If you have read the books, STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHOW, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO ON A KILLING RAMPAGE. -et fin-

I have read the books and I am a huge fan!!! I am well aware that the tv series isn't like the books hardly at all, but I love it all the same!! Ok so they didn't stick to the story line, but by changing it they won't ruin any expectations of readers who may have imagined it differently and it also doesn't ruin the books by giving away too much for those who haven't read the books or to those who haven't finished reading the books. I for one am happy that they seperated the books from the tv series and enjoy not knowing what will happen next. I'm very excited for this tv series and I do watch it religiously.

i started watching into the second season, so i need to go back and watch the first, but i got into the books BECAUSE of the show. The books ARE much better and alot more in depth, and yes the show does change alot, but they are both good in their own right.
so sad the series is cancelled.
